I started a short series to share review activities that I implemented in my classroom. The beautiful thing is that these ideas can really be used in any unit. I hope you will find them helpful.
Idea 2οΈβ£: Tarsia Puzzle

I used this puzzle particularly for the evolution unit.
Goal: Match up all the terms with the corresponding definitions or associated meanings.

Ways to use this:
π’ A review activity for important terms from a unit
π’ A extra activity for early finishers
π’ A competitive team game (timed)
π’ A station activity
π’ An assignment where you have the students to create their very own puzzle (and have their peers to play each otherβs puzzle)
Personally, I think itβs important to provide sufficient time for the students to complete to maximize the effectiveness of this review activity. I would also say it was a relatively challenging activity, though there is a way to modify it.
Modification:
π’ Take out any terms/definitions on the edge of the puzzle.
(This would allow students to identify the βsidesβ of the puzzle, making it a little easier to match up.)
*PRO TIP*
There are Tarsia Puzzle generators out there. Click here to make your very own puzzle for your unit and class!

Give this a try and I would love to hear about your experience!
